This README file describes the working of the F2 save key patch, sound crash fix, and spacetec support. This file was updated last on May 29, 1997. The F2 key for saving is only available during the "traversal" mode of gameplay, not during "freefall" or "stream". It is also disabled during certain cinematic sequences. You will be prompted for up to an eight character name under which to save your game. You can restore the game later using the F3 key or from the main options screen. Note that the U.S. version already has this F2 capability. If you have a save game which won't restore, let us know. Please ZIP up the save game if you can and email it to info@shiny.com along with what version of the game you are playing. Please note that save games are not compatible across different versions of the game data files though they are compatible between the DOS, Windows, and 3D versions of the game. Also hopefully fixed in the version is the crashes that are occuring on some sound cards. This fix is currenly considered beta. Another addition to this patch is support for the Spacetec SpaceOrb 360 in DOS mode. You need to get the driver either from our website or from www.spacetec.com. Recent fix is save game compatibility with other versions of MDK.
