3dfx Driver CD Easter Egg

It seems the developers at 3dfx had a sense of Humor. I have found easter eggs hidden in various driver and press release CDs that they issued. The CDs were constructed using a series of executables that pointed to each other, as well as other files that would contain the text in various languages. I have pulled out the executable that will allow you to run what would be the "autorun" menu that would appear when the CD is inserted in your system. 
NOTE: The exe file is still in it's "read only" state as it was when pulled from the CD so it should be virus free.


This easter egg is taken from the blue "Quick install" CD for the Voodoo 4/5 products, part #171-0026-102. Run the attached executable file. It will give you a file error message when it starts because the additional files needed to display the menu text are not there. Because of this, the installation and other buttons will not appear. 

Once it has started, you can type the text as listed below and it will cause an action in the menu...either spoken words, sounds or a graphic will appear.....or a combination of these.

When in the menu, do the following...

1. simply type "3dfx"

2. hold the "Alt" key and type "VD5"

3. hold the "Shift" key and type "VD4"

To exit the menu, press "Esc" or click the "X" in the lower corner.
